What we build

One solar array. A whole village of subscribers.

Community solar means a single, mid-sized solar farm — sited on a farm field, a capped landfill, a business’s back acreage, or town-owned land — that feeds the grid, while nearby households and businesses subscribe to its output and see the savings show up right on their utility bill.

No panels on your roof. No upfront cost. No credit check that shuts renters, apartment dwellers, or shaded lots out of the clean energy transition. If you pay a National Grid or NYSEG bill in the project’s community, you can very likely subscribe.

No installation, no risk

We finance, build, and maintain the array. You simply subscribe and save.

Savings from day one

Most subscribers see roughly 5–10% off their electric supply charges, guaranteed in writing.

Cancel anytime

No long-term contract traps — moving away or changing your mind is never a penalty.

Who we partner with

Every project starts with a neighbor willing to share their land.

Village Light Energy seeks out landowners, business owners, and local governments across New York ready to turn underused acreage into a long-term source of clean income and community pride.

Landowners & farmers

Lease marginal, shaded, or hard-to-farm acres for stable, long-term rent — often for 20+ years, with the land returned to its original use afterward.

Business owners

Put a warehouse roof, back lot, or brownfield to work generating rooftop or ground-mount solar income, plus a visible sustainability story for customers.

Towns, villages & schools

Municipal and school-owned land can host a project that lowers district or town energy costs while offering every resident a way to subscribe.

About us

Built by two New York clean-energy professionals

Village Light Energy was founded by two clean energy professionals who still work full-time elsewhere in the solar industry, building this company nights and weekends because they believe New York’s clean energy transition should include everyone.
